Roderick Teachey
Rod Teachey, has 30 years of experience in real estate development and finance, primarily in Atlanta, Georgia. Rod is involved in virtually all aspects of Wingate’s development projects due to his diverse and substantial experience. He works on market rate, affordable and subsidized developments, sub-rehab projects, utilizing Tax Exempt Bonds, Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) and various subordinated debt programs including HOME funds. He also lends his expertise in conventional financing for market rate transactions, along with development oversight, construction management and new acquisition pursuits. Rod is based in Atlanta, where he leads the Wingate Southeast regional office. Rod started his career with General Electric Company in their Financial Management Training Program in Schenectady, New York. Shortly thereafter, he joined GE Capital’s Real Estate Finance Group in Atlanta, where he served as an Asset Manager and Senior Underwriter for seven years. He transitioned to the development side in 1999 and since that time has been involved with over $500 Million of ground-up development of market-rate, mixed-income and affordable multifamily housing in Georgia, Florida, and Texas.
