John (JD) Schuster

John (JD) Schuster is responsible for the acquisition and development of predominantly affordable housing in existing and new markets across the US, especially South Florida, Atlanta, New York, New England, and Ohio. John is part of the team responsible for executing Wingate’s ‘City Lights’ masterplan in the Atlanta’s Old Fourth Ward, beginning with the preservation of 733 units of affordable housing (project-based Section 8) in six new construction phases, and financed with Housing and Urban Development (HUD) first mortgage products, multifamily tax-exempt bonds, various federal and local soft loans, lease purchase bonds, and equity via the Low-Income-Housing-Tax-Credit Program. 

Prior to Wingate, John was part of SoftBank Vision Fund’s founding team in Israel, where he led investments in late-stage growth technology companies. At SoftBank, John was asked to hold junior board positions for two portfolio companies. John started his career in the leveraged finance group of J.P. Morgan’s investment bank, where he executed over $5bn in transactions for high-priority clients of the firm, such as the National Football League and the Madison Square Garden companies. .
